Testimonials

It is with the greatest respect to our students that we present their testimonials here on this page.  They attribute their successes to the love and hard work of the teaching staff at the Herridge Technical School but in truth nothing can be achieved without the hard work and dedication of the students themselves.  These young people are a credit to the good name of the school, the commitment and care of the staff and the continued support of our patrons.  I hope you will join us in encouraging others to help in our efforts to elevate the problems brought about by poverty, poor health and ignorance. Education takes the vulnerable, gives them hope and makes them strong.

English is the student's third language after Kirundi and French. The words you read from them below are written in their own hand.

Hello! My name is Erica Mutoni. I am 18 years old. I study at the Herridge Technical School in Year One, Hospitality and Catering section.

I was born in an unsaved family where I saw my father behaving like no man I saw around me. Everything he did was wrong!

I got lucky to have a friend who was born again and who had always urged me to pray and be saved. I tried my best to attend prayers, but it was not good enough to make me turn away from my sins.

One day my friend brought me the Word of God that touched my heart and I asked the Lord to change first my father so that I may be able to serve Him. This happened in 2016 and the Lord answered my prayer in May 2017!

Seeing the goodness of the Lord towards my father, I decided to surrender to Jesus as I had promised Him to do so if He saved my father from his evil ways.

I thank the Lord for leading me to this school as I feel home with good educators that take care of us in every step we take in studying or counselling whenever needed; especially how to live according to the Gospel and walk in the promises of God.

Be richly blessed!

Hi, my name is Don Mélisse Irampojeje. I am 15years old. I attend the Herridge Technical School lessons in Year One, Hospitality and Catering section.

I’ve born in a Christian family and used to go to church as many do, but without being born again. I also sang in a choir still doing many sins like spreading gossip, insulting others, bitterness and sometimes drinking alcohol secretly.

I truly understood salvation later in 2017 and then took the decision to turn away from these sins by receiving Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.

What I thank God is that my opportunity to attend the Herridge Technical School has been a favour to my soul to strengthen my relationship with Jesus by the help of his faithful servants that teach and take care of us at school, which doesn’t happen in other schools of the area.

In here we always have the opportunity to listen to the Word of God every morning and other times along the week to interact with others.

Praise to the Lord!

My name is Fabrice Igiraneza. I am 20years old and I am in Year Two, Hospitality and Tourism section here at the Herridge Technical School.

I came to study here after I got my Primary Education Certificate from another school in Nyabikere county. I had many problems due to my eyes illness that made me lose the preceding school year.

My family came to register me here, but I was anxious about my health and the school fees as I was still weak though I had received some drugs.

While I attended a prayer time, in this was preached the Word of God in Luke 18:35. It touched my heart and I believed in Jesus and was healed of my eyes illnesses.

The devil pushed me into alcoholism to prevent me for serving the Lord in thanksgiving of his mercy upon me; but during a revival and healing crusade organized on 3rd February 2018 by the Prayer and Praise Group of the school, I was delivered from alcohol by the power of the Lord’s Holy Spirit. Since then, I don’t feel thirsty of alcohol any more.

I was hated by my family and friends because they are not saved, but the Lord has made a way for me as my elder brother was touched by the Gospel a few days before me and we encouraged each other.

I praise the Lord for this nice school as we receive care; encouragement and power from the anointing of the Holy Spirit that enables our educators to lead us in a strong faith that overcomes our basic needs at home and school.

May God bless you!
